How to protect your work
1. Creative Commons

Creative Commons is a non-profit website offering access to search services provided by other independent organizations. The site allows images to be uploaded and displayed with the author’s copyright terms.
Some users will allow their work to be copied, distributed or displayed, as long as there is sufficient credit given to the original author. It is down to the author’s discretion as to whether the work may be altered or used for commercial purposes and this will also be listed in the criteria alongside the image.
2. Using Coding
To stop people from copying and pasting your work you can use a code that prevents anyone from being able to right click on your work in Firefox and Internet Explorer.
The about.com guide says: “This line of JavaScript will block both right clicking and accessing the right-click menu from the keyboard. It will not block viewing the source or downloading images in other ways.

"Keep in mind that while that script will stop some people from stealing your digital photos and HTML source there are many ways to get around it.”
This will only protect your work if building your own website to upload your images.
3. Own-it

Offering free legal advice to University of the Arts London students (during course of study and for three years after) Own-it run seminars and workshops as well as one-on-one sessions. Visit their website for more information on how to protect your intellectual property.
